Funding for innovative research ideas
In their joint project Artur Bikbaev and Jeffrey Lopez-Rojas want to study electrical activities in small networks: "To fire or not to fire, or what really matters in neuronal plasticity". The 2nd winner project by Michael Lippert together with Frank Angenstein combines two sophisticated techniques to unravel neuronal communication in learning animals: "Combining Optogenetics and fMRI to Study the Interaction of Hippocampus and Prefrontal Cortex during Negative Reinforcement Learning". The LIN SpecialProject is a competitive funding instrument for LIN scientists who can apply for grants for innovative and interactive projects. Since 2006 9 successful SpecialProjects were conducted.
