How to get here
↗ Arrival by airplane
Magdeburg is located about 150 km from the airports of Hannover, Leipzig/Halle, and Berlin.
All airports are served by public transportation. Generally the price for a one-way ticket from one of these airports to Magdeburg is 25 - 35 Euro. Please check whether the Deutschlandticket is suitable for you.
The largest German airport with direct connections all over the world is Frankfurt/Main. This airport is 4 hours away from Magdburg by long-distance train.
Airport Berlin
S-Bahn and regional trains depart directly from Berlin Airport and take you to Magdeburg with one change. Choose between connections via Berlin Central Station or Potsdam. Allow approx. 2.5 hours for this journey.
Airport Hannover
At Hannover airport a direct bus or a local train (Line 5) takes you to the central railway station of Hannover within 20 - 30 minutes. Trains for Magdeburg leave from the railway station about once an hour. The journey takes about 90 minutes.
Airport Leipzig-Halle
From the airport Leipzig/Halle trains go directly to the central station in Magdeburg leaving about once an hour. A trip takes about 60 minutes.
↗ Arrival by train
Magdeburg is well integrated into the Deutsche Bahn railway network. Both national and regional trains stop here. To find a suitable connection, search for the stop ‘Magdeburg Hauptbahnhof’.
Trams depart from the main station and taxis are also available next to the main entrance. Taxis stop is at the ‘Stadtfeld’ exit, on the left outside the waiting area. For trams follow the signs.
↗ Arrival by car
Magdeburg is well connected to the German motorway network.
Coming from Berlin or Hannover via freeway A2 use exit "Magdeburg-Zentrum" and follow the city highway (Magdeburger Ring) to reach the city center.
Coming from the south, leave the A14 at the ‘Magdeburg-Zentrum / Reform’ exit and follow the city motorway. You can also reach the city centre from here.
Please note: Magdeburg is growing. Therefore, there are always construction sites. Use an up-to-date route planner to reach your destination reliably.
↗ Arrival by bus
Magdeburg has an internationally connected bus station. It is worth checking a connection here too. Arrival is directly at the main railway station in the city centre.

It is not possible to book accommodation through the organising committee. We are therefore happy to recommend a few options for you to book yourself that are no more than 20 minutes away from the city center by public transportation or car.
